Where Has All the Savings Gone?

Tom Keene and Brendan Greeley of Bloomberg asks the question, “Where have the savings of Americans gone?” In the 1980s Americans saved about 10% of their disposable incomes. Today that number is just a fraction of that, hitting a low of about 2%. It is also mentioned that of the kinds of savings, for retirement or short term, more people are opting for the short term.
